One of my greatest accomplishments in life has been nursing my two daughters. Not something I ever thought much of before becoming pregnant with my first. Who wants to think about being a walking, human cow to a chomping, always hungry, amazingly un-empathetic baby?
Well, apparently this was totally for me. I nursed Emma for 22 months and FINALLY weened Graycie over the last few weeks at the ripe age of 47 months. That is two kiddos and almost 70 months of playing momma cow!
If you want to truly know a love-hate relationship…nurse a child (or talk to a nursing mother). It was never-ending. Hard. Amazing. Frustrating. Enlightening.
I’ve literally cried over spilled milk. Like a lot. So. Many. Tears.
I’ve thought a lot about my nursing journey and would love to share it with others as a story of accomplishment, love, selflessness, joy, and discovery. I learned to stand up for myself and my kids while nursing. How to ignore idiots. How to be comfortable with myself. Truly an amazing journey.
I’m happy to be done…but a little sad too. Stay tuned for some of my boobs’ traveling adventures 😂 They’ve seriously been employed EVERYWHERE!
